NOTICE - Currumbin-Numinbah Valley Challenge Ride

27 Nov 2017 by Brad Thompson

The final club Challenge ride of the year, the Currumbin – Numinbah Valley is on next Sunday. We have a good group who have RSVP’d already but there is still some places on the coach (or you can drive yourself of course).

This is a fantastic ride. 122km and plenty of climbing so not easy but the scenery is awesome, iconic hinterland roads, beautiful Numinbah Valley, the choc coated bananas at Chillingham welcome and this year you get to ride Tomewin as a change from Springbrook.

The return Belbaker coach (including your bike) at $15 is subsidised by your club and you’ll welcome being chauffeured home after the big ride and post ride refreshments at the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Club.

Please register your details here to ride and pay the $15 by Thursday night: https://goo.gl/forms/U3PX8vyK7RGIG4Jl1

NOTE that the coach bike trailer does not accommodate through axels (e.g. disk wheels) so unfortunately if you are in that situation you’ll need to find other transport/car pool.

Coach departs the carpark at Hanlon Park, 220 Cornwall St Greenslopes at 5:00am. Be there at 4:45am to load your bike. Carkpark located here: https://goo.gl/maps/YKXq7WMUYA42

The coach will drop (and collect) you are the ride start point which is a couple of hundred metres north of the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Club. 766 Pacific Parade Currumbin is the closest address here: https://goo.gl/maps/QR44iUxNUHw

Ride to depart Currumbin approax 6:15am. If you are driving yourself, please be on time.

Your Ride Leaders for the day will be Andy V & Brad T.

The ride will be an easy pace and the group will stick together with regroup points (following climbs) as necessary enroute.

Ensure that you bring 3+ bars/gels minimum in addition to 2 full bidons with water and electrolyte. There will be a rest stop in Chillingham to get restock, bathroom etc.
